Crespo on Gonçalo Ramos: “A Good Striker, but Not a Top Player”
Hernán Crespo has shared his thoughts on Gonçalo Ramos and the expectations surrounding the Portuguese striker. According to MilanPress, the former Milan forward believes Ramos has plenty of quality, but that expectations may have been higher than his career numbers suggest. “Ramos is a very good player, but certainly not a top player,” Crespo said. He also pointed out that Ramos has never been the type of striker who converts almost every opportunity. “He has never been an infallible goalscorer. Look at his career numbers and you will find all the answers you are looking for.” Crespo nevertheless remains confident that the Portuguese forward will score goals. “I know him. He is a very good centre-forward and sooner or later the goals will come. Of course, considering the money spent, the fans expected a top-class goalscorer.” Crespo’s comments highlight the difference between the expectations surrounding Ramos and what he believes can realistically be expected from the striker.
